The psychobilly/rockabilly band Spellbound was formed in 1986 by brothers Frankie and Adrian Hayes, who hail from Bray, Co Wicklow, 15 miles south of Dublin City. In 1987 they recorded their first single for Raucous Records in the United Kingdom. Spellbound decided to head straight to mainland Europe and recorded their debut album Mystical Madness in 1988, which was never released in their home country. The band made a short trail across the rockabilly and psychobilly festivals in Germany and Scandinavia before disappearing, as it seemed, back into the hellfire forests of County Wicklow. In 2003, with the resurgence of the European psych scene, Spellbound again performed at psychobilly festivals in Germany, Spain and Holland. In 2005, their second album A Fistful Of Spells was released, followed by Eleven Deadly Sins in 2009. To date, Spellbound have performed their live shows in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Finland, Prague, Estonia and the United Kingdom. In 2011 they released their fourth studio album Stir It Up.
